These majestic creatures travel from Alaska to give birth in the waters surrounding the channel between West Maui and the islands of Lana'i and Moloka'i. From January to March, expect to see dozens of them breaching and blowing directly from your vantage point.

Hale Ono Loa is a mid-century, low-rise complex that underwent a comprehensive exterior renovation in 2010. Guests have access to a shared pool framed by lush tropical gardens, direct ocean access, and two sun decks—one by the pool and another along the beachfront. Onsite parking is available for each guest, along with community gas BBQ grills and a shuffleboard court. Each condo is privately owned, providing a tranquil alternative to larger resort complexes while still being within reach of various attractions.

Note: This unit is located in the building perpendicular to Lower Honoapiilani Rd., ensuring you experience fewer disturbances compared to those in the parallel building, which faces traffic noise. Here, you’ll enjoy only the soothing sounds of nature.

Please be aware there is no AC in this unit or any others at Hale Ono Loa. However, there is a powerful ceiling fan in the bedroom and an additional floor fan for your comfort. If humidity is a concern for you, please ask any questions prior to booking.

The pool operates from 9 AM to 10 PM daily, with depths ranging from 3 to 9 feet. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.

Coin-operated laundry facilities are available onsite on the second and third floors. Remember to bring quarters and your choice of detergent and dryer sheets.
